US National Security Strategy 2025 Names India Key Partner

The White House released the US National Security Strategy 2025, identifying India as a critical partner for global security and strategic initiatives. The strategy emphasizes the need to deepen cooperation in defense, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing to counteract predatory economic practices within the Indo-Pacific region and calls for the improvement of commercial relations.

In response, the Ministry of External Affairs of India welcomed the report, highlighting the existing comprehensive global strategic partnership between the two nations and their shared cooperation through the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue.

Complementing these strategic goals, the two countries conducted the 21st India-US Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism on December 3. During these talks, officials condemned terrorist attacks in Pahalgam and Delhi, while committing to multilateral cooperation via the UN and FATF. The nations called for additional sanctions against ISIS, al-Qa'ida, Lashkar-e-Tayyiba, and Jaish-e-Mohammad. India further acknowledged the United States Department of State for its designation of The Resistance Front as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation and a Specially Designated Global Terrorist.
