US Army Seeks Rare Parts for Ukraine Bradley Vehicles
The US Army is surveying the defense industry to source obsolete parts and training for M2A2 ODS-SA Bradley vehicles deployed in Ukraine.
The US Army Contracting Command - Detroit Arsenal is surveying the defense industry to identify companies capable of sourcing, accessing, or reproducing rare and obsolete parts for M2A2 ODS-SA Bradley infantry fighting vehicles deployed in Ukraine. The agency issued a sources-sought notice targeting supply chain bottlenecks and vendor obsolescence for legacy components, including target-acquisition-system hardware, transmission control modules, and turret drive control units.
Beyond procurement, the Army is seeking a contractor to provide specialized equipment and training for Ukrainian mechanics to restore vehicles to fully mission-capable standards. This effort complements a $31-million contract previously awarded to Rheinmetall to develop faster repair methods for the fleet.
While the notice serves as a market survey rather than a formal solicitation for bids, the Army emphasized urgency. The agency stated that "due to immediate operational timelines, vehicles must be processed under a phased delivery approach" to ensure they achieve "Move, Shoot, and Communicate" capability for immediate shipment, with non-mission-essential parts managed later.
