Nestlé to Build 688 Million Dollar Smart Coffee Factory in Thailand

Nestlé (Thai) Co., Ltd. will invest 688 million dollars to build an AI-driven coffee production hub and distribution center in Samut Prakan province.

Nestlé (Thai) Co., Ltd. will invest 688 million dollars (23 billion baht) to establish a smart factory and distribution center in the Araya Industrial Estate of Samut Prakan province. Approved by the Thailand Board of Investment on July 8, 2026, the facility is scheduled to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2028.

The plant will integrate artificial intelligence and robotic automation to produce 170,000 metric tons of NESCAFÉ soluble coffee, coffee mixes, and ready-to-drink beverages annually. The project is expected to create more than 520 jobs for Thai engineers and technical specialists. To support the local economy, the company plans to source approximately 4.3 billion baht (130 million dollars) in agricultural materials yearly.

Beyond manufacturing, the company intends to provide farmer training and conduct research into climate-resilient coffee varieties. This initiative aligns with Thailand's Bio-Circular-Green economic agenda, aiming to transform the country into a high-value food and beverage hub through technology-driven manufacturing.
