Political party leaders in Quebec are intensifying their appeals to voters as the provincial election campaign enters its 35th day. With the general election scheduled for October 5, Élections Québec reported on Tuesday that nearly 25% of eligible voters have already cast ballots via advance polls.
Immigration has emerged as a dominant campaign issue and a primary flashpoint for the Coalition Avenir Québec and the Quebec Conservatives. Both of these parties, along with the Parti Québécois, have pledged to reduce the number of asylum seekers and temporary immigrants admitted into the province.
The Coalition Avenir Québec, Quebec Liberal Party, Parti Québécois, Québec solidaire, and Quebec Conservatives are all competing for seats in the upcoming vote.
