Azerbaijan and China Sign Legal Cooperation Memorandum

Azerbaijan and China signed a memorandum of understanding in Baku to expand legal cooperation and strengthen joint efforts to combat transnational crime.

The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan and the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China signed a memorandum of understanding on August 31, 2026, in Baku. The agreement, signed by Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev and China's Procurator-General Ying Yong, establishes a framework to identify new areas of legal cooperation and expand the exchange of information and experience.

A primary goal of the memorandum is to strengthen joint efforts to combat transnational crime. During the official working visit, Aliyev and Ying Yong conducted one-on-one and bilateral meetings to evaluate the current state and future prospects of cooperation between the two prosecution authorities.

As part of the diplomatic itinerary, the Chinese delegation visited the Alley of Honor and the Alley of Martyrs. To mark the occasion and recognize contributions to bilateral relations, Kamran Aliyev awarded Ying Yong the jubilee medal commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani Prosecutor’s Office.
