Citadel Securities Partners With Wolfe Research to Expand Equity Business
Citadel Securities entered a joint venture with Wolfe Research to provide independent equity research and announced plans to increase computing power for risk management.
Citadel Securities entered a joint venture with Wolfe Research to expand its high-touch equity business, enabling the firm to offer premier independent equity research to clients through its execution channels. The firm currently handles approximately 25 percent of all United States equity volumes.
Jim Esposito, an executive at the firm, stated that Citadel Securities focuses on flow market making and does not compete with the bespoke derivatives or prime brokerage businesses of major Wall Street banks. He detailed plans to increase investment in computing power, specifically TPU capacity, to enhance risk management and risk-taking models.
Looking forward, Esposito indicated the firm may expand into fixed income over the next few years. While he noted that sports betting is not a current priority, he suggested that entering event contracts and prediction markets remains a possibility as institutional liquidity grows.
