Apple Expands Self Service Repair to iPhone 17 Series

Apple Inc. expanded its Self Service Repair program in late October 2025 to include the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air. The company now sells genuine replacement parts for these models, including batteries, displays, cameras, enclosures, speakers, and logic boards, through its repair portal.

To support these repairs, Apple released detailed manuals on its website and offers a specialized toolkit for a seven-day rental fee of $49 USD. This rollout occurred approximately two weeks faster than the parts release for the previous iPhone 16 series.

The program is available to customers in the United States, Canada, and several European nations, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, and Switzerland. Originally launched in the U.S. in April 2022, the initiative aims to increase device longevity and transparency by aligning with the Right to Repair movement, providing more flexibility for local technicians and experienced users.
