India and Russia Target 100 Billion Dollar Trade by 2030
Indian Ambassador Vinay Kumar announced that India and Russia are on track to reach a 100 billion dollar bilateral trade target by 2030.
Indian Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar announced that India and Russia are on track to reach a bilateral trade target of 100 billion dollars by 2030. Speaking at the second India-Russia Business Forum in Kazan, Kumar reported that trade turnover reached 38 billion dollars during the first six months of 2026.
To meet the 2030 goal, the Government of India is pursuing a Free Trade Agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union. Indian officials are also working with Russian authorities to eliminate non-tariff barriers affecting marine and agricultural exports.
Addressing U.S. sanctions and Western criticism regarding energy imports, Kumar stated that India's priority is ensuring energy security for its 1.4 billion people through predictable and competitive sourcing. He noted that European energy imports from Russia since 2022, totaling over 320 billion dollars, significantly exceed the scale of trade between India and Russia.
