Uttarakhand CM Ends Daler Mehndi Performance Controversy

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called for an end to a controversy involving singer Daler Mehndi after Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal interrupted the artist's performance at the Siddhpeeth Maa Kunjapuri Tourism and Development Fair in Narendra Nagar. The incident began when Uniyal questioned Mehndi's singing ability and accused him of lip-syncing, noting that the singer was paid 35 lakh rupees for the appearance.

While unverified social media reports alleged Mehndi was intoxicated, Uniyal later stated he was unaware of the singer's poor health. To resolve the misunderstanding, Dhami spoke with Mika Singh, Mehndi's brother, and emphasized that Uttarakhand is a land that honors writers, artists, and scholars.

Dhami declared the matter closed following a public clarification from Uniyal, who stated he had no intention to cause hurt. The Chief Minister urged all parties to move past the incident, asserting that the artists involved are distinguished.
