Two Men Rescued After Rowing Dinghy Across English Channel

HM Coastguard and the RNLI rescued two men on Saturday after they rowed a small boat from France to Dover.

Two men reached the United Kingdom on Saturday after rowing a small dinghy across the English Channel. HM Coastguard received reports of the vessel at approximately 12 p.m. and coordinated a response involving Border Force vessels and a Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) lifeboat to rescue the individuals.

Following their rescue, both men were transported to the Border Security Command compound in Dover, Kent. This arrival occurs amidst a period of high-volume crossings, including a record 165 migrants who arrived in a 13-meter mega dinghy on Thursday and 103 people who arrived in two boats on Friday.

According to Home Office figures, a total of 13,110 arrivals have been recorded so far this year.
