Florida Counties Conduct Public Voting Machine Accuracy Tests

Election officials in Joe Morgan and Palm Beach counties conducted public logic and accuracy tests on voting equipment on July 27, 2026, to prepare for the Florida primary election scheduled for August 18. Required by state law, the process involves processing sample ballots with predetermined totals through tabulation machines to verify that votes are read and recorded accurately.

In Palm Beach County, officials tested 41 machines over several hours. In Wakulla County, Supervisor of Elections Joe Morgan oversaw the process, stating that the public nature of the tests ensures transparency and allows citizens to verify the integrity of the system.

Following the verification process, the equipment is sealed in secure spaces. These machines will remain sealed until the start of the early voting period, which runs from August 8 to August 15.
