Google DeepMind Team Bypasses AI Filters for Job Applicants
The Google DeepMind AGI Safety and Alignment Team created a special application form to ensure human reviewers see candidates' resumes.
The Google DeepMind AGI Safety and Alignment Team is encouraging job applicants to use a specialized form to bypass Google's internal AI screening systems. An internal document indicates the team believes the company's standard application process has a "non-trivial probability" of incorrectly screening out candidates or causing significant delays.
By using this alternative form, the team aims to ensure a human reviewer evaluates every application. The team also advised candidates to avoid using AI to write their responses to prevent them from sounding "samey."
A Google DeepMind spokesperson denied that internal systems filter applicants incorrectly, asserting that the form merely sends resumes directly to the team and that there are "no shortcuts to getting hired."
This internal caution occurs while the Google Workspace team continues to market AI tools to corporate clients specifically to automate resume evaluation and reduce HR workload.
