China Deploys Aircraft and Vessels Around Taiwan

Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense detected Chinese military aircraft and naval vessels operating around the territory, including one aircraft crossing the median line.

The Ministry of National Defense of Taiwan detected three People's Liberation Army aircraft sorties, six People's Liberation Army Navy vessels, and nine official ships operating around the territory up until 6 a.m. on Monday, October 26. One aircraft sortie crossed the median line and entered the southwestern and eastern Air Defense Identification Zone.

The Republic of China Armed Forces monitored the activity and deployed assets to respond. This activity follows a separate detection on Thursday, October 22, involving three Chinese naval vessels and seven official ships, though no aircraft were detected during that period.

Parallel to these military movements, a survey by the Mainland Affairs Council found that 52.3% of Taiwanese respondents believe the Chinese Communist Party is responsible for undermining peace across the Taiwan Strait. This represents an increase from 47.4% recorded in May.
