Israel Seizes West Bank Land for Psagot Settlement Route

The Cabinet of Israel seized 15,342 dunams of land in Al-Bireh, West Bank, to establish a 3,835-meter security route encircling the Psagot settlement. Issued under Military Order No. 115/25/T, the seizure creates a buffer zone that restricts Palestinian access to land between the settlement's built-up area and the new route.

While the official seizure covers 15.3 dunams, preliminary mapping indicates the route will effectively isolate an additional 380 dunams, placing them under the security control of the settlement. The order was signed on June 18, 2025, and remains valid until December 31, 2027. The Israeli Defence Ministry designated an officer to exercise actual possession of the seized land on behalf of the military commander.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission characterizes this action as part of a broader policy since October 7, 2023. According to the commission, 46 similar military orders have been issued to expand colonial control through the systematic creation of buffer zones.
