Former Solicitor General of India Harish Salve accused Opposition political parties of attempting to destabilize the government by using the judiciary as a political tool. In an interview with IANS, Salve argued that these movements are designed to undermine public faith in established constitutional institutions.
Salve specifically questioned the strategy of the Indian National Congress, citing recent protests by party workers against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in Bikaner. He asserted that political leaders should adhere to constitutional procedures and allow legal proceedings to conclude instead of creating public disturbances.
While acknowledging the right to protest, Salve maintained that such actions must remain within the framework of applicable police laws. He called on the government to respond firmly to these movements to maintain systemic stability.
