India Auto Industry Records Strongest July Sales Ever
The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers reported record July sales with double-digit growth across passenger, two-wheeler, and three-wheeler vehicle categories.
The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers reported that India's auto industry achieved its strongest-ever July sales, characterized by double-digit growth across all major vehicle categories. Domestic passenger vehicle dispatches to dealers rose 34.3% year-on-year to 457,810 units, up from 340,772 units in July 2025. Two-wheeler sales increased 22.6% to 1,923,483 units, and three-wheeler dispatches grew 33.4% to 92,560 units.
SIAM Director General Rajesh Menon attributed the performance to sustained positive momentum as the industry heads into the festive season.
Looking toward long-term trends, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd Chairman R C Bhargava projected that local passenger vehicle sales will grow to 6.1-6.3 million units per annum over the next five years. Bhargava cited a revival in small car demand and strong interest in sports utility vehicles as the primary drivers for this projected growth.
