Air India Expands Canadian Network with New Mumbai Route

Air India is expanding its operations in Canada for the Winter 2026-27 season, headlined by a new seasonal non-stop service between Mumbai and Toronto. Operating three times weekly from October 25, 2026, to March 26, 2027, using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, the route makes the airline the only carrier offering direct flights between these cities during the winter.

Simultaneously, the airline restored daily connectivity between Delhi and Toronto on August 1, 2026, increasing frequency from five to seven flights per week. This reversal follows temporary reductions in June and July caused by high fuel prices and geopolitical tensions involving the United States and Iran. The deployment of new Boeing 787-9 aircraft on the Delhi-Toronto route eliminates a technical fuel stop in Vienna, reducing travel time from 20 to 17 hours.

These upgrades introduce a three-class configuration to the Delhi-Toronto route, marking the first time Air India has offered Premium Economy between these cities. By January 2027, all flights to Toronto will feature new or upgraded cabin interiors. These initiatives add approximately 4,400 seats monthly between India and Canada and increase premium seat capacity to Toronto by 71%. In total, the airline will operate 20 weekly flights between the two countries, including services from Delhi to Toronto and Vancouver, and the seasonal Mumbai-Toronto route.
