Supreme Court Lawyers Recite Preamble Supporting Student Protesters
Supreme Court lawyers recited the Preamble in New Delhi to support students protesting exam leaks and demanding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation.
A group of legal professionals gathered on the lawns of the Supreme Court of India on July 23, 2026, to recite the Preamble to the Constitution. The demonstration was part of the Save Democracy, Save Constitution campaign and aimed to show solidarity with students protesting at Jantar Mantar. The students are calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following allegations of NEET exam paper leaks and systemic irregularities.
Indira Jaising and S Muralidhar, both senior advocates, led the recitation. Along with the Supreme Court Bar Association, the legal fraternity condemned the use of force and brutality by police against the protesters. The association specifically called for an independent investigation into the police actions.
The CJP, an organic movement fighting against paper leaks, expressed its gratitude to the advocates on X for their support of the students' cause.
