O Panneerselvam Accuses TVK Government of Breaking Electoral Promises

Former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam accused the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government of failing to honor key electoral promises during a heated Tamil Nadu Assembly session on Tuesday. Panneerselvam specifically cited the government's failure to distribute six free LPG cylinders annually and provide enhanced monthly financial grants for women.

Leader of the House K A Sengottaiyan refuted the claims, arguing that the administration has a five-year mandate to fulfill its commitments and that the public appreciates its performance. The debate shifted from policy to personal attacks regarding political loyalty and party affiliations. School Education Minister A Rajmohan and Public Works and Sports Minister Aadhav Arjuna criticized Panneerselvam for changing the photographs he carries in his pocket as a sign of shifting allegiances.

Panneerselvam defended his commitment to the Dravidian movement and former Chief Minister M K Stalin. The session eventually required the Speaker to intervene to expunge remarks and restore order after members traded barbs over their respective alliance shifts.
