Paras Semiconductors to Invest Rs 6,200 Crore in Madhya Pradesh
Paras Semiconductors plans to build a manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh as industry leaders call for a shift toward core engineering talent in India.
Industry leaders at the ISIG Executive Summit India 2026 in New Delhi identified talent development and core engineering skilling as the primary requirements for a domestic semiconductor ecosystem. Paras Semiconductors announced plans to invest Rs 6,200 crore to construct an advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh, utilizing subsidies from the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 2.0 and state-level infrastructure support.
During the summit, Salah Nasri, CEO of the International Semiconductor Industry Group (ISIG), stated that global companies prioritize workforce capabilities over other factors when selecting investment destinations. Nasri argued that India must transition from a consumer to an innovator to strengthen its national economic output and GDP.
Santosh Kumar, CEO of Paras Semiconductors, advocated for an educational shift toward chemical and materials science engineering to support the manufacturing sector. Kumar noted that the previous trend toward IT software must give way to core engineering disciplines to ensure the domestic industry can thrive.
