Premier Foreways Closes Five Carlisle Stores After Liquidation
Premier Foreways is closing five independently owned corner shops in Carlisle, United Kingdom, after the company entered liquidation.
Premier Foreways, a mini-chain of five independently owned corner shops in Carlisle, United Kingdom, is closing all its locations after entering liquidation. The stores operated under the Premier brand for nearly 40 years and included sites on Wigton Road, Bedford Road, Blackwell Road, Newlaithes Avenue, and Warwick Road.
Owner Billy Bone described the decision to liquidate as difficult, noting that these were the first Premier stores established in Carlisle. While the shops used the Premier brand, which is owned by Tesco, they were operated independently. Local residents reported that some store shelves had been empty for some time prior to the announcement.
Armstrong Watson LLP has been appointed as the liquidator to manage the company's closure and assist the directors through the liquidation process.
