Israel Defense Forces Kill Multiple Hamas Operatives in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces conducted a series of targeted strikes across the Gaza Strip, killing several Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad members for ceasefire violations.
The Israel Defense Forces conducted a series of targeted aerial strikes across the Gaza Strip between October 14 and October 19, 2026, killing multiple militants from Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The military stated these operations were necessary to remove immediate threats and prevent the restoration of military capabilities in systematic violation of a ceasefire.
Initial reports from October 17 and 18 identified the elimination of five Hamas operatives, including Adham Khalil Mohammed Marouf and Maher Walid Omar al-Husseini, both of whom participated in the October 7, 2023, invasion of Israel. Other targets included Nukhba member Mahmoud Khaled Mohammed Madhoun, sniper Ubaida Suhail Hamad Murtaja, and Abd al-Jawad Juda.
By October 19, the IDF reported further strikes on Saturday that killed three additional Hamas members: Abdullah Mohammed Khamis Jaber, cell commander Majed Ahmed Mustafa Sabbagh in Tuffah, and Amer Bashir Mohammed Khourani in Jabalia. Separate operations on Thursday resulted in the deaths of Hamas commander Mohammed Mohammed Abd al-Khalek Hala and Ahmad Jabrin Tawqif Dalhan of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad's al-Quds Brigades in Khan Yunis.
The military reported using precision munitions and aerial surveillance to minimize civilian risk. Additionally, the IDF published a letter from Ibrahim Sinwar, the 10-year-old son of the late Yahya Sinwar, in which the child expressed a desire to shoot Jews.
