Cotton On to Close All Typo UK Stores
Cotton On will shut down all Typo stationery stores and online operations in the United Kingdom by early 2027 due to unsustainable costs.
Cotton On, the Australian fashion group, is closing all United Kingdom operations of its stationery chain Typo by early 2027. The decision includes the shutdown of 13 physical stores and the company's online trading platform.
Several locations have already ceased operations, including a concession in Selfridges and branches in London at Angel, White City, and Westfield Stratford. Other remaining stores have begun holding closing-down sales. The company attributed the exit to unsustainable operating conditions, citing a combination of low sales and high rent and operating costs.
The closures follow a pattern of retail instability in the United Kingdom throughout 2026, which saw similar shutdowns by brands including Radley and Quiz Clothing.
