BlackRock Consortium in Talks to Buy Stack Infrastructure Assets
A consortium led by BlackRock and IFM Investors is in exclusive talks to acquire Stack Infrastructure's Asia Pacific data center portfolio for up to $25 billion.
A consortium backed by BlackRock and IFM Investors has entered exclusive negotiations to acquire the Asia Pacific data center portfolio of Stack Infrastructure. The investor group, which includes the BlackRock-backed Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Partnership, is currently preparing to conduct due diligence on the assets.
The deal involves Blue Owl Capital, the owner of Stack Infrastructure. The portfolio includes data centers in major markets such as Tokyo, Osaka, Sydney, and Melbourne. While earlier reports indicated a valuation exceeding $30 billion, current discussions are centered on a figure of up to $25 billion.
This potential acquisition comes amid a surge in global investment across Asia's data center sector, driven by the expansion of cloud computing, digital services, and artificial intelligence. The transaction remains subject to ongoing deliberations and has not been finalized.
