Network Glitch Disrupts Check-ins at Mumbai International Airport

Mumbai International Airport Limited switched to manual processing after a network disruption disabled check-in counters and e-gates for approximately one hour on Tuesday.

Mumbai International Airport Limited implemented manual processing measures on Tuesday evening after a network disruption disabled critical systems at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The glitch began around 7:00 pm and lasted between 50 and 60 minutes, knocking out check-in counters, boarding e-gates, and DigiYatra processing.

While the airport operator stated that the disruption had not affected flight operations, the outage caused significant passenger confusion and operational delays. Check-in procedures for 11 Air India flights and three IndiGo flights were specifically impacted. Reports also indicated gate changes and crew delays during the window of the outage.

Airlines noted that the network failure compounded existing delays already caused by air traffic control congestion. Airport teams managed to maintain essential operations by reverting to manual systems until the network was restored.
