Two Singapore-Flagged Vessels Struck Near Strait of Hormuz

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore condemned projectile attacks that sank one container vessel and damaged another near the Strait of Hormuz.

Unknown projectiles struck two Singapore-flagged container vessels near the Strait of Hormuz on October 13 and 14. The GFS Pride caught fire and sank after the October 13 strike, marking the second vessel lost since the US-Iran war began on February 28.

The GFS Giselle was struck the following day. While the ship sustained hull damage, it successfully reached a safe anchorage. All 43 crew members across both vessels are safe.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore condemned the attacks, describing them as "unprovoked, unjustifiable, and a breach of international law".
