BNY Integrates Google Cloud Gemini into Eliza AI Platform

BNY integrated Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise into its proprietary internal AI platform, Eliza, to transition generative AI from pilot projects into core infrastructure. The bank, which serves 90% of Fortune 100 companies, is utilizing agentic AI to automate multi-step financial workflows, including client onboarding and payment validations. BNY has already deployed over 100 digital employees and supports more than 120 automated tasks through Eliza.

The integration introduces multimodal reasoning, allowing the global workforce to build AI agents that synthesize extensive financial reports, conduct market research, and analyze historical trends. This capability is designed to free employees from routine tasks to focus on deeper strategic insights and client delivery.

To meet financial regulatory requirements, Google Cloud implemented a governance framework featuring virtual private cloud service controls, customer-managed encryption keys, and Model Armor to prevent data leaks and prompt injection. Google Cloud confirmed that BNY retains full sovereignty over its intellectual property and that Google does not train its models on the bank's data. This partnership follows previous BNY agreements with OpenAI and NVIDIA as the firm seeks to lead AI adoption in the financial sector.
