Elon Musk Claims Repeated Experiences With AI Psychosis
Elon Musk stated he has experienced AI psychosis multiple times over the past year after realizing artificial intelligence could possess good taste.
Elon Musk stated during an interview at the X Takeover event on Saturday that he has experienced AI or SI psychosis approximately half a dozen times over the past year. He used the term to describe his reaction to the realization that artificial intelligence could understand beauty and possess good taste.
While not a clinical term, AI psychosis is used in technology circles to describe delusions deepened by repeated AI use. Some venture capitalists and executives treat the condition as a badge of honor. Musk's comments follow a broader trend of Silicon Valley figures discussing the psychological impact of rapid AI advancement.
Other industry leaders have echoed similar sentiments. Garry Tan, the CEO of Y Combinator, joked that a third of the CEOs he knows have cyber psychosis. Additionally, venture capitalist Marc Andreessen has championed the concept of AI Psychosis As A Service, while Palantir CTO Shyam Sankar described certain AI researcher behaviors as a form of mass psychosis within Silicon Valley.
