Coinbase Launches Agentic.market Discovery Platform for AI Agents

Coinbase launched Agentic.market, a discovery platform and marketplace designed for AI agents to find, buy, and sell digital services. Functioning as an app store for AI agents, the platform utilizes the x402 micropayments protocol to enable autonomous transactions, removing the requirement for human-managed API keys. The system includes a web interface for humans and a programming layer for agents to integrate capabilities at runtime.

The underlying x402 protocol is governed by the x402 Foundation and receives support from Google, Microsoft, and Amazon Web Services. To date, the protocol has processed approximately 165 million transactions totaling 50 million dollars across 480,000 agents.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated the platform is a necessary layer for the agentic economy to overtake the human economy, predicting that AI agents will soon execute more online financial transactions than humans. Product lead Nick Prince noted the system provides access to thousands of services without needing API keys.
