SpaceX Reports 161% Revenue Growth Amid Tesla Merger Talks
SpaceX reported a 161% revenue surge driven by AI services while forming a committee to discuss a potential merger with Tesla.
Space Exploration Technologies Corp. reported a 161% year-over-year increase in third-quarter revenue, fueled primarily by its super intelligence business. This AI segment, which provides data center computing power to hyperscalers, saw sales grow more than ninefold to reach $7.56 billion.
Operational milestones included the completion of the first commercial Starship mission, which deployed 26 Starlink V3 satellites into low Earth orbit. Alongside these financial gains, SpaceX and Tesla have established special committees to evaluate a potential merger.
CEO Elon Musk stated the combination has "a lot of merit," noting that the move would reduce redundancies and resolve conflicts of interest as both firms integrate chip manufacturing and generative AI. Analysts have cautioned that the merger could result in significant equity dilution and link SpaceX investors to a stagnating electric vehicle market.
