GCC Ministers Coordinate Unified Stance at UN General Assembly

Foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council convened in New York on September 20 and 21 to solidify a unified posture ahead of the 81st United Nations General Assembly. Chaired by Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the coordination meetings served as a consultative mechanism to align agenda priorities for upcoming diplomatic engagements.

Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, led the sessions to coordinate joint ministerial dialogues with international entities and regional blocs. The ministers reviewed regional developments and their impact on security, specifically addressing the conflict in the Middle East, the war in Ukraine, and the development and use of artificial intelligence.

Albudaiwi stated that the council's engagement in international forums reflects the rising global stature of member states. He noted that these efforts are intended to develop long-term partnerships based on mutual respect and shared interests to support sustainable progress and stability.
