Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated the Mukhyamantri Sankhyalaghu Unnayan Prokolpa 2026 on July 29 at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala. The minority welfare scheme provides targeted financial assistance and loan distributions to improve financial inclusion and socio-economic security for minority communities, who make up approximately 16 percent of the state's population.

During the event, the Tripura Minority Cooperative Development Corporation disbursed loans totaling Rs 64.93 lakh to 28 beneficiaries to support higher education and business ventures. Saha announced that the state government has submitted a Rs 322 crore project proposal to the Central government to further the socio-economic development of these communities, emphasizing the role of women's education and financial empowerment in building family strength.

Saha stated that these efforts are guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" vision to ensure a life of dignity and harmony. In a separate initiative on July 28, the Government of Tripura signed three Memorandums of Understanding with the National Stock Exchange to enhance financial literacy, support micro, small and medium enterprises, and expand capital market access for youth and government officials.
