Lagos State Installs Boundary Signposts to Prevent Land Disputes

The Lagos State Government is installing boundary demarcation signposts to stop land encroachment and ensure peaceful coexistence among bordering communities.

The Lagos State Government has begun installing boundary demarcation signposts across the state to prevent land disputes and encroachment from neighboring states. Led by the Lagos State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, the initiative aims to accurately identify residents for infrastructure and welfare provision while ensuring peaceful coexistence among bordering communities.

Installations have already been placed at the Seme border, Eredo-Epe, and along the Ojodu-Alagbole and Ikorodu-Shagamu roads. Permanent Secretary Kikelomo Bolarinwa confirmed that the signposts adhere to official specifications provided by the Office of the Surveyor-General.

Bolarinwa warned that the government will not be lenient with those who hamper social order or the ease of business in the state. She stated that "anyone found demolishing any of the installed signposts would be punished."
