Palo Alto Networks Acquires AI Gateway Provider Portkey
Palo Alto Networks acquired Portkey to integrate a centralized control plane for monitoring and governing autonomous AI agents within its Prisma AIRS security platform.
Palo Alto Networks Inc. closed its acquisition of AI Gateway technology provider Portkey on May 29. The move is designed to enhance the Prisma AIRS security platform by implementing a centralized control plane capable of monitoring, orchestrating, and governing autonomous AI agents.
By integrating Portkey's architecture, which processes trillions of tokens and provides real-time runtime protection, the company aims to assist organizations in transitioning from experimental AI pilots to mission-critical operations. The integration focuses on mitigating risks associated with operational costs, unauthorized actions, and data exposure.
The resulting solution will combine AI runtime security with agent identity verification via Idira and observability tools provided by Chronosphere.
