PDP Launches 2027 Election Campaigns in Ogun Central

The Peoples Democratic Party launched its 2027 presidential and National Assembly campaigns in Ogun Central with rallies led by Ladi Adebutu and Iyabo Obasanjo.

The Peoples Democratic Party officially launched its campaigns for the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections in Ogun Central on August 26, 2026. The launch began with a rally at the Ake Palace Pavilion in Abeokuta, followed by campaign stops across the Abeokuta North, Abeokuta South, and Ifo/Ewekoro federal constituencies.

Governorship candidate Ladi Adebutu, serving as chairman of the campaign committee, urged voters to reject non-performance and vote for the party on January 16, 2027. Adebutu claimed the party would restore the best times of Nigeria, citing the leadership of former President Obasanjo as a cornerstone for the country.

Senatorial candidate Iyabo Obasanjo, who represented the district from 2007 to 2011, addressed the crowd regarding her return to the party. After a period with the All Progressives Congress, she stated her return to the PDP was driven by a desire to restore the district's lost glories. Other participating candidates included deputy governorship candidate Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo and House of Representatives candidates Dele Olaleye and Toyin Amuzu.
