Iran Repairs Nuclear Site Struck by Israel in March

Iran has begun reconstructing the Minzadehei nuclear weapons development site in Tehran following an Israeli airstrike that damaged the facility in March 2026.

Satellite imagery from September and October 2026 shows renewed activity at the Minzadehei nuclear weapons development site in northeast Tehran. The facility was previously targeted by the Israel Defense Forces on March 3, 2026, during Operation Roaring Lion, an attack that destroyed several buildings and damaged underground infrastructure.

Iran has conducted an extensive cleanup operation to remove debris and repair hillside damage caused by the strike. According to a report by the Institute for Science and International Security, current imagery reveals the return of regular vehicle traffic and ongoing earthworks in a courtyard area previously marked by craters.

The Institute for Science and International Security, utilizing images from VANTOR Technologies, suggests these actions indicate an effort to reconstruct nuclear weapons development capabilities and recover assets lost during the March attack. The Israel Defense Forces previously identified the site as a location where nuclear scientists developed key components of the Iranian nuclear weapons program.
