DISA Authorizes Palantir Software for Top Secret Edge Deployments

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) authorized Palantir Technologies to deploy its Palantir Federal Cloud Service (PFCS) Forward across on-premises and edge environments. This authorization extends existing Impact Level 5 and Impact Level 6 provisional authorizations, with the latter being the most stringent security level reserved for information up to Top Secret that directly affects national security.

This hardware-agnostic approval allows Palantir to deploy its full software stack, including Gotham, Foundry, Apollo, and the Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP). The software "can be deployed across any environment, from enterprise data centers to the tactical edge, on hardware of the customer's choosing," according to the company.

By utilizing the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program's Authorize Once, Use Many process, U.S. government customers can now bypass significant administrative red tape. This shift is intended to accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence tools on the battlefield and in other mission-critical settings.
