Israeli Forces Detain 630 Palestinians Across West Bank in July

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society reported that Israeli forces detained 630 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, during July 2026. This surge in arrests contributes to a total of more than 25,000 Palestinians detained since October 2023. The society noted that these campaigns specifically target women, children, and former prisoners, often coinciding with violent night raids, property destruction, field executions, and theft.

Detention activity was particularly high in the town of Tell within the Nablus governorate. As of early August 2026, more than 9,400 Palestinians are held in Israeli prisons, a population that includes approximately 92 women and 370 children.

The reported conditions in detention centers are critical, with the society citing policies of medical neglect, starvation, and torture. Additionally, Israel has prevented the International Committee of the Red Cross from resuming visits to the prisoners.
