Rush and Metallica Launch Charity Efforts for Venezuela Earthquakes
Rush and Metallica launched fundraising initiatives to provide medical aid and shelter for victims of the June 24 earthquakes in Venezuela.
The rock bands Rush and Metallica launched separate charity initiatives to support victims of devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24. The disasters caused widespread destruction and thousands of injuries across the country.
Rush collaborated with animation studio Fantoons and its co-founder David Calcano to release a limited-edition T-shirt featuring "Starman" imagery. All profits from these sales are donated to Hogar Bambi, a nonprofit organization that provides food, medicine, and shelter to vulnerable and displaced children in Venezuela.
Simultaneously, Metallica donated $100,000 to relief efforts through its All Within My Hands foundation. Working with partner Direct Relief, these funds support emergency medical aid and search-and-rescue operations, including the deployment of the Spain-based organization Bomberos Unidos Sin Fronteras.
