South African Fuel Prices Projected to Rise in November
South African motorists face potential fuel price increases on November 4 due to rising international petroleum costs and a weakening rand.
South African motorists may see fuel price increases starting November 4. The Central Energy Fund published data on October 14 indicating that rising international petroleum prices and a weakening rand are driving the projected hikes.
Projections suggest 93-octane petrol could increase by approximately R2.26/l, while 95-octane petrol may rise by R2.27/l. If these figures hold, inland 95-octane petrol could reach R32.52/l. Diesel projections show potential increases of R1.37/l for 500ppm and R1.46/l for 50ppm, which could bring 50ppm diesel to R34.25/l.
Final fuel price adjustments are scheduled for the first Tuesday of November, though the agency noted that projections may change before the end of October.
