CJI Surya Kant Calls for 24/7 AI-Powered Judiciary

Chief Justice Surya Kant called for the judiciary to transition to 24/7 operations powered by artificial intelligence and digital platforms. Speaking at a Madhya Pradesh High Court program in Jabalpur titled "Fragmentation to Fusion," he announced the formation of two Supreme Court committees: one to oversee the court's technological systems and another to explore AI applications for expediting pending cases.

The Chief Justice emphasized that digital reforms must reach rural populations through simple software language and trained local paralegal volunteers to maintain public trust. He praised the Madhya Pradesh High Court's digital initiatives, which he launched at the event, as an inspiration for other states.

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal endorsed the reforms, designating Madhya Pradesh as an exemplary model for judicial innovation and advocating for a pan-India rollout. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also addressed the seminar, highlighting the role of technology in sustaining democracy.
