China Warns Japan Against Remilitarization and Nuclear Armament

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian accused Japan of rebuilding a war machine and distorting historical facts regarding its wartime aggression.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian issued a warning on August 6 regarding the 81st anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. He stated that the lessons of Japanese militarism's aggression must serve as a permanent alarm and accused right-wing forces in Japan of distorting historical facts to avoid accountability for wartime invasions.

Lin alleged that the Government of Japan is rebuilding a "war machine" by seeking to revise its three non-nuclear principles. He claimed Japanese authorities are pursuing independent nuclear armament or nuclear sharing with the United States, characterizing these actions as a provocation and a sign of contempt for historical justice.

Referring to the 80th anniversary of the Tokyo Trials, Lin asserted that the event demands reverence from Japan. He argued that Japan is exploiting its status as a nuclear bombing victim while simultaneously beefing up its military capabilities.
