World Sindhi Congress Urges UN to Monitor Sindh Territory

During the 63rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Hafeezan Wadhio, an executive committee member of the World Sindhi Congress, urged the international body to monitor the territorial status and human rights situation in Sindh.

Wadhio warned that proposals to create new provinces or administrative units could fragment the historically recognized territory of Sindh. She argued that such fragmentation would undermine the Sindhi people's rights to cultural survival, political participation, and self-determination. According to Wadhio, territorial integrity is inseparable from identity and the control of natural resources, noting that all sections of the Sindhi people have rejected these proposals.

Wadhio called for preventive international attention from the UNHRC and the Office of the High Commissioner to address rampant human rights violations and prevent irreversible harm to the region.
