Houthi Shelling Displaces Hundreds in Al-Hudaydah Governorate

Sustained artillery strikes by Houthi militias in the Al-Hudaydah Governorate of Yemen have displaced approximately 400 individuals from 57 families. The affected civilians fled villages across the Hays, Al-Jarahi, and Jabal Ras districts to escape the shelling, seeking refuge in the areas of Uways, Al-Qash, and Al-Haribah.

The exodus has created a humanitarian crisis, leaving displaced families without homes, livestock, or sources of income. This has resulted in critical shortages of food, clean water, and basic shelter for vulnerable populations, including women, children, and the elderly.

In response to the escalation, the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps in Al-Hudaydah issued an urgent appeal for international intervention. The agency is requesting emergency food assistance, cash transfers, sanitation services, and temporary shelter to support those fleeing the conflict.
