Ryan Cohen, the President, CEO, and Chairman of GameStop Corp., purchased approximately 1.2 million shares of company common stock on September 21, 2026. According to an SEC Form 4 filing, the transaction totaled $26.4 million with a weighted average price of $22.94 per share.

This purchase increases Cohen's direct holdings to 40,498,522 shares, which represents 9 percent of the company's equity. His total position is now valued at $921.75 million. GameStop stock rose approximately 4 percent on Tuesday following the disclosure of the insider purchase.

The investment comes as the specialty gaming retailer reports rising profits and a reduction of $1.4 billion in debt achieved by swapping bonds for stock. The company previously attempted to expand its footprint through an unsolicited $56 billion bid to acquire eBay, though that offer was rejected.
