Blue Moon Metals Acquires 33 Critical Metals Projects for $20.5 Million
Blue Moon Metals acquired 33 tungsten and antimony projects in the western United States to reduce reliance on Chinese critical mineral supply chains.
Blue Moon Metals Inc. acquired 33 tungsten and antimony projects across the western United States for approximately $20.5 million. The transaction consists of 2.8 million common shares valued at $15.5 million, $5 million in cash, and a 1% net smelter return royalty for the private owner.
The company intends to use the Springer complex in northwestern Nevada to process high-grade tungsten from four specific candidates, including the Wildhorse Canyon mine in Idaho and the Oregon mine in Colorado. This acquisition marks the company's first entry into antimony production, a metal used in night vision goggles and flame retardants for which the United States currently has no domestic mined production.
The move is part of a broader strategy to establish a U.S.-focused critical metals platform. By securing these assets, the company aims to decrease dependence on Chinese supply chains for minerals essential to military defense, electronics, and aerospace industries.
