Romania Joins U.S.-Managed Counter-Drone Technology Marketplace

The United States Army added Romania to its counter-unmanned aerial system marketplace to accelerate the procurement of interoperable drone-defense technology.

The United States Army announced on April 29, 2026, that Romania has joined the U.S.-managed counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) marketplace. Operated by the Joint Interagency Task Force 401, the marketplace connects partner nations with interoperable counter-drone technologies to speed up procurement in response to evolving unmanned threats.

This initiative provides capabilities ranging from tactical edge operations to the protection of critical infrastructure. Romania's inclusion aligns with the Army Secretary's objective to integrate at least 25 partner nations into the marketplace by the end of the summer.

The move follows previous efforts to streamline the industry. In March, the United Kingdom signed an agreement with the Pentagon to establish common data standards for C-UAS technology, reducing the complexity of vendor requirements.
