YSRCP Files 16 Election Irregularity Complaints in Andhra Pradesh

The YSR Congress Party submitted 16 complaints to the State Election Commission alleging negligence and irregularities during local body elections in Andhra Pradesh.

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party submitted 16 complaints to the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission alleging negligence and irregularities during local body elections. The party claims unauthorized persons entered counting halls and that candidates and agents were expelled in Kuppam Municipality. Additionally, the party alleged biased recounting occurred in Kalyandurg Municipality.

YSRCP leader Lella Appi Reddy specifically accused Kadapa District Collector Cherukuri Sridhar of facilitating a process that favored the ruling party during the Pulivendula ZPTC by-election. Reddy further alleged that the election body failed to comply with Supreme Court directives.

In response, the State Election Commission directed District Collectors, District Election Officers, and police officials to implement videography and CCTV surveillance at all strong rooms, counting centers, and polling stations. The commission ordered officials to submit a report on the actions taken regarding the complaints by 4:00 pm on November 4.
