Vingroup Plans First Korean Won Bond Issue
Vingroup JSC is planning to issue up to 400 billion won in bonds to diversify its international capital sources for general corporate financing.
Vingroup JSC, Vietnam's largest publicly traded company, is planning to issue its first bond denominated in the Korean won. The conglomerate is in early-stage discussions with Shinhan Securities Vietnam, KB Securities, and Kiwoom Securities to issue a three-year note valued at up to 400 billion won, or approximately $292 million.
The move follows a board of directors approval for a bond sale of up to 455 billion won for the second half of 2026. Vingroup intends to use the proceeds for general corporate financing as part of a broader strategy to diversify its international capital sources.
This initiative comes amid a period of financial activity for the conglomerate, including record high share prices. Additionally, the company's hospitality arm, Vinpearl JSC, recently secured $255 million in private credit financing from the Oman Investment Authority and SeaTown Holdings International.
