Tata Electronics Surpasses Foxconn in Indian iPhone Exports
Tata Electronics exported 26.3 billion dollars in iPhones from India, overtaking Foxconn's export value during the five-year Production Linked Incentive scheme period.
Tata Electronics exported iPhones valued at 26.3 billion dollars from India between FY22 and FY26, surpassing Hon Hai Precision Industry's 25.6 billion dollars in exports. This growth occurred during the five-year Production Linked Incentive scheme implemented by the Government of India to boost domestic electronics manufacturing.
While Tata Electronics leads in export value, Hon Hai Precision Industry maintains a lead in total production value, recording 38 billion dollars compared to the 35.5 billion dollars achieved by Tata Electronics. Hon Hai Precision Industry also dominates the domestic Indian market, where its production value reached 12.4 billion dollars, nearly double the 6.3 billion dollars recorded by Tata Electronics.
Tata Electronics entered the assembly business after Hon Hai Precision Industry, which began operations in 2019. Tata Electronics scaled its capacity through the acquisition of Wistron's India operations in November 2023 and the purchase of a 60% stake in Pegatron India in 2024. Over the five-year period, exports accounted for 73.6% of the total iPhone production value in India.
